All About Aprons: Lala’s Lecrin Valley Fashion Show

When you set foot in the Lecrin Valley, you don’t immediately think fashion, but there’s a very talented designer here who has come up with some beautiful designs for jewellery and… aprons!

Yes, aprons! Not the first thing that springs to mind when you think fashion, and Lala (aka Ema de Haro, a French born artist, blogger and translator living in Durcal) has designed many different things to date, but her beautiful apron designs are proving to be a massive hit with not only the locals, but also international customers and recently she hosted a fashion show for her new collection.

The fashion show was held in the main house of the Thai Elephant restaurant in Restabal, thanks to its owner, Clive and with the participation (as one of the models!) of its manager, Natasha.

A good crowd of Lecrin Valley residents were there to give Lala their support and were treated to a little vignette-style fashion show revolving around some girls going about their business, waiting for letters from their loved ones… The loved ones showed up in the form of Mission Impossible style hombres, clad in black suits and dark glasses, which they quickly removed, rolled up their sleeves, popped on their Lala designed men’s butcher style aprons and began to cook up a feast for their girls.  After a little Moroccan inspired Jewellery show, they all ended up in the garden having a lovely rustic alfresco meal in their pretty aprons!

The sun shone for the occasion despite a chilly wind and Lala sold lot of Aprons. Perfect for Xmas pressies.
